H
owdy! Thanks for stopping by :) This site exists to document the time and travels of yours truly, while I wear the years here at university (and no doubt beyond). Of course, the most updated portion of this site right now is the main blog below...I also have a poetry section, and some photos, and on my about me page, a poem that I think is awesome each week or so. I'd love to hear feedback on this site so Sign My Guestbook!!. (^_^)<(Yaay!)

Hiya blog world!! I'm at home now in Nassau, after having finished up in Nova Scotia. Yep, it's been about five years or so and it feels great to be done. As mentioned below I'm getting ready to go to Europe in Sept. All the plans are in place now. I would mention though that the exchange into British pounds is rather heavy :)

Either way, I've been spending my days at home reading about Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell...a most remarkable book. I love it. Ahh, what a wonderful thing it is to read and to stir up one's imagination! For me I sat up half the night reading, reading, reading until my eyes made it a chore. But I really had to know what happened next. Imagination is a wonderful thing! When I have the time, I intend to write a novel as well...hopefully I can make it be everything I've admired in other author's works.

Nonetheless, things are doing great thus far...haven't met much folk, but then at home I don't really go out much unless I'm working... and we all know that being a student means you don't have much of a lifestyle. It is, however, completely worth it...I am firm in that point. Yep, so I'm at home, and finally started to play through Tales of Symphonia as well...Ok, I'm off though...Cheers to all!!

Return of the Magic!

June 08, 2006

Hi again, this is me here just making a really really quick update to the blog page. Unfortunately I haven't gotten around to updating the entire site yet, but...I managed to design and deploy my first VERY FIRST ASP.Net 2.0 application for the Nova Scotia Dept of Ed. Website. It gave me a serious headache trying to upload to the server...SQLExpress needs alot of work. I had to rework the whole thing to use Access...sigh...but yeah, Coding Miracles do happen. Busy busy time here in wolfville because I'm also doing research with a prof on wireless sensor networks.

In other news, I got into GRAD SCHOOL!!! Yes, in September I'll be in Europe, studying in the European Master of Informatics Program (www.eumi-school.org).

Oh right! I graduated too!! WOOT! It should be quite the time...
Anyway,

Salut!

Hi all!  ~ Great to see you back again to the Alex Pages. This blog of mine has been woefully neglected for *ulp* 7 months! bad bad Alexis...There...I told him! :) So yeah, during this time so much has happened in my life, like I have taken so many enriching courses at school, failed my multivariable calculus (N) course...so depressing that...but it was one of the best classes I ever had...just the material was intense. This semester I am taking my last few courses and waiting to see if I can get into grad school soon. That would be the best thing ever! I applied to the European Masters of Informatics program and the SFU School of Interactive Arts and Technology, and to UofA's (cold!brrr) MLIS program. I will see which ones accept me and give funding....

Now, enough of that :) I met a girl! Yep, and I'm very happy about that :* whoa! feeling all warm and...fuzzy...  B-) Well, more on that later, so yeah :) finally someone I can connect with...

Anywho, just wanted to stop being rebellious and update the blog.
I am sooo gonna do up a flash site!

Cheers!

August 31st, 2005

Well, I am now back to Acadia! Amazing how things change...I'm again in Wolfville, and y'know, it has it's own peaceful existence. It's not like the big city, and that's just fine. Classes start next week too. But anyhow, there are more important things to talk about...

I changed my hair!

that's right, I am now the proud new owner of a head full of twisties. It's an interesting look for me, and I like it...not sure what will happen when it locks, but so far so good. The hard part is retwisting by myself...(arm aches:). Anyway, I'll have some pics up soon. It's pretty neat not having to comb my hair...although I don't think I've saved any time in the mornings since it takes time to get these to wake up. Very cool change...I was kinda introduced to the idea through a close friend of mine who had been in the process herself. Another interesting development is that I am thinking about switching out of Computer Sciences and taking a degree in Library and Information Sciences... Cheers!!!

May 12th, 2005

I have returned home from Toronto, and I am now in Nassauland! And I daresay right now there are so many awesome flowerings that I'm happy. Also, I delivered my first speech to the new Graduates at my old high school. How awesome! It went something like this...

I show up to the school at 9:30, as it is an awards day ceremony, so it was in the Gym, as is traditionally the case. I wait in the new principal's office for a while and then after a fine display of office antics (there was a teacher who broke out in tears after receiving a much awaited reply for something or the other...quite touching) then we mosied to the gymnasium...my this is a fine season, more of those lively coloured flowers...whatever they're called. A lilacish hue. Either way, so there was an unexpectedly short program, so I had as much time as I wanted. There were students to the left, in rows of about seven or eight and the same for the right and center of the room. There were a couple of students on the bleachers at the far back too. And There were parents somewhere in the middle of it all, but well, they were at the left near the door :) And my mom decided she couldn't miss out on this, so she too was there.

So the speeching was quite fine; there was a fair amount of ad-libbing, but I think it was appropriate. Things went amazingly well, I'm glad to say so. :) The students attentions were maintained, although I was also deliberate in making eye contact with everyone (even the moderators and band members who were almost in the back of me). And it was a rather lengthy discussion. :)

Oh, the seven points at the end? Hehe, the students started twittering when I mentioned that I had seven more points :D I was pleased. (er...noone was cheering about that, but I told them that they had to hear it anyway, with a smile)...so what I did was I read out the seven points but read the little blurb on only the important ones

- You have what it takes. - Spend time alone - Have a plan - Think positively

At the end it turned out rather well, there was a burst of applause :) and I took my seat. The principal and a few teachers have requested copies of the piece. I am considering publishing it to the guardian or something...

March 25th, 2005

Hey, I wasn't updating the site again, though I did attempt to do so when my beloved computer decided to shut itself off. I think it's a Monday kinda thing. Either ways, the big birthday happened on the fabulous 19th. It was a day of great lazing and restfulness (the day before I had played my first game of paintball with the Genesis group). Paintball is amazing, and causes a huge adrenaline rush, and there are bullets flying everywhere and you get shot with balls of paint, that taste pretty bad. (I did not get shot in the face ...not at all). But anyway, that was great.

Now, the time has come and twenty five is upon me in full force. This is the year of discovery I suppose...for I wanna be a mystic...ok...I'm off again, to hunt down prosey things. Today's a holiday. Yay!

March 9th, 2005

Hi All, I just spent some time checking out some simple Perl based forums that were available, and the best one is YABB. It's simple to setup. Now, given the site traffic I don't expect an overwhelming surge in conversations, but have a look on the forums ;) I'll start talking to myself in there :-P

Cheerio...Tomorrow's my mom's Birthday! :) Gotta remember that.

February 28th, 2005

There is snow outside, a host of cloud, and sliding. Today I went to the dentist again and got three fillings and some restoration done. So you know I'm happy about that. What had happened was that my brushing was too vigorous. In other news: I am looking into relationships...yes, there's some element of shock. But anywho. The day's are rolling on...and I am more aware of the changing times. well, I'm off to the bus stop.

Cheers! ^^

February 9th, 2005 - A post!

Ainulindale! Well...Guess you weren't expecting to hear from me ever again, huh. Yeah, I was acosted sometime during September through to the present by a wild um...Meteor!...uh...yeah, that's it.

(^_^) <(Either way, it has been a while. Thus far I've actually gotten a fair bit done.) It's almost too much to talk about. For instance, way back when I managed to get into this book by John Elderedge called, "Wild at Heart: Discovering the Secret of a Man's Soul" and the gist of it was all about following your heart etc. Well, needless to say, I was all for what the book was getting at, that most of us have our hearts caged for reasons we may not even know. Some of which may be even in childhood. But anyway, I'm on a spiritual journey of self uncovery, discovery, and recovery.

In the process I did some snowboarding, and a whackload of skating...and also, I got a Guitar!! :) It's name is Lin, after a famous Lynn. So now, I'm learning to play that, and getting into books and personality psychology.

I discovered that based on the Myers Briggs Personality tests, that I'm an ENFP or an INTP personality type. (depending on my mood that day :^)

I'll post the links to that stuff in the links section. It's terrifically cool.

I also made lots of new year's resolutions, and Goals for the Heart. I'll post them sometime. Yeah. One of them is to revamp this site. I totally wanna learn PHP. Something with some serverside processing. Static pages suck. Oh, and I wanna take the Lotus Notes CLS exam. Thus far at work I'm working on some Lotus Notes Applications and it's sorta going ok...no broken bones yet.

Okeydokey. Cheerio!

Oh, I'm also thinking of growing dreadlocks...there's a convo starter.

September 5th, 2004

Hello All, Here am I now, at a desk I got for free and a chair that was a gift, and a few other odds and ends that were picked up in the last two weeks. Can you guess? Yep...I'm MOVING again. . . well, I've already moved. I now live near the Fairview Mall, which is pretty great. My roommate count has dropped from four to two now (heh) and we share an apt on the fourth floor. We've basically got all the required jazz, and will now have to redecorate....

Oh yeah, this place has lots of squirrels...the black furred variety. So imagine my surprise when I wake up and find one of the lil critters crawling down my window :S. Yep...wildlife. And finally...Work has gone a little heavy these past few days, since I got to work on a website development project, which is pretty involved (especially the debugging). More to come...

July 7th, 2004

I'm now at my desk at work, with the door closed, headphones astrewn to my right and both monitors blazing. Oh, and I've just finished a Vector Cereal Bar (tm) which was pretty satisfying. :P I've spent the day pretty much in review of the Jakarta Struts Framework, which is like ASP.net, but different. Either way I hope I can learn it relatively quickly and be efficient with it...Cheerio and Zai Jian...

June 12, 2004

I LIVE!!!  Heh...yeah, I have completely not updated the site in about two months. Not that it's been a vacation, but moreso that I've had less time to do this...and also haven't created the appropriate opportunities to do so. But anyhow, what's two months between friends?...Ok...

Thus far though I've spent five months at work, and it is going fast the days. My typical day begins with a shower and a trip on the bus, followed by a lenghty walk to the building, and a stop for breakfast. Then I take all this to my desk and close the dooor to my PWA hit the lights and shut on the laptop. After that it's a semi wild ride of planning for what to do next and each day I put together a work plan for what I'm gonna accomplish...say about eight hours worth a  work each day...And then I attempt to folow that list, which usually leads me to do several other things in the meanwhile that were not a part of my list (I'm rambling now...) but eitherway...

Oh, also interesting ande of note is that I've now moved out and have two cool roommates...Meier and Chris...we get along relatively great. I've also got lots of chinese food...So there...I think that's a fair update...

Hurrah for the new Zelda...2005!

April 24th, 2004 Well, it's been a while, and I've done a fair bit here and there with this and that and the other thing. Yadda yadda yadda etcetera etcetera...Oh yah! It's been such a while that I've forgotten alot of the cool stuff that's been happening: hmmm let's see, let's see.

Yeah, I'm learning Quenya (Cwen-ya) the language of the elves who remain in Numenore (the true west). Or is it Valinore...but either way, it's a beautiful language. Yep, it's from the Lord of the Rings. You know, those poems that go:

A Elbereth Gilthoniel,
silivren penna mriel
o menel aglar elenath!
Na-chaered palan-driel
o galadhremmin ennorath,
Fanuilos, le linnathon

April 7th, 2004 I LOVE PERL! Yep, I said it. I think perl is soo cool. Today I used a module that someone wrote to get data from an online directory. And I just popped it in a perl script, tweaked it a bit, and it sang out to me nice information about people at work. So COOL. I shall learn more of this yet. Either way though, it is well dot dot dot. I need to find a poetry reading. Work has been going along and there've been some fine developments. I've also learned how hard it is to make decisions sometime, like I had to send off this email today to a whole lot of people (like all over the company) and I wanted to make sure it was sent right etc. and I checked it and rechecked it again etc. and I had to actually psych myself up to click the send button. But anyhow, it was a good experience. Another thing is that I've grown a respect for silence. Silence is good. Silence is not to be broken...BLAASSSTTT!!! Heh, oops.

Also, this very week...

  • Getting good experience juggling at the bus stop. A better audience I could never have asked for.

  • Did I mention perl is great?

  • And sleep shall claim me, golden.

March 28th, 2004 Howdy-do! It's been a rather fine weekend, I'd say. Specifically, I was able to go downtown for a bit to do some sightseeing. It's pretty interesting, lots of the same sortsa stuff. Big buildings people, and streetcars. Oh, and dig this, I brought my juggling equipment (three yellow hackey-sacks with smiley faces on them) and I started juggling in the square when we stopped for a rest (yeah, I went with a buddy) and I drew a fair bit of stares. That's the juggler's food, an audience! So I've taken to enjoying the weather while juggling outside. I'm also getting way better at doing the Mill's Mess...now that's super cool!

Also, this very week...

  • I played in a curling match at work, it was cool to slide around on ice again. I like that. Everyone said I was good at balancing etc...

  • I did some research on hanggliding in toronto and found that there are several schools for that sorta thing. I'm hoping to do it in the summer...who knows.

  • Early dinner! Whooo...

March 19th, 2004 Happy Birthday! I am now a full year older, and no doubt just that much wiser in terms of experiences. Just think, last year I knew nothing of life in Toronto city, Algorithms, Computer Graphics, Madeleine L'engle Hmm...think with me here...<churn churn> Sigh. Aren't flashbacks nice?

Well, at present I'm looking out at a dark dark sky, with a sub-aware sense of something in the pit of my stomach that rivets outward towards your mind, like body singing to soul; or matter to mind. I am rather alive. Silence, dances by between the shadows and where she has her chance leaves trails for me to wonder at; and though I have Mahalia Jackson singing, I notice something quieter than the orange-gray of lamplight and the rhyme of the clock. And with this I stare toward a reflection in the window...Sing Mahalia! Sing-sweet...and surely-so it is a time for prose and for higher thinking.

Also...

  • I got lots of greetings today...it's a record! And although I spent most of the day at work, it was a fine Friday the 19th indeed!

  • Gaining drowsiness..

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzz....zz

  • Oh yeah, made pasta...Joy =)

Bah-bye!

March 13th, 2004 Ahoy! It's been about two weeks since my last post. In that time I've been doing quite alot of things in a rather routine kind of way. Work has been going well these past two weeks, and I finally (at long last) got to write some code. An automated spreadsheet actually, which is right up my alley. What I like about Spreadsheet automation is that I can simulate a user, once I know what it is he usually does. Things like handcrafting manual reports, can be handed over to the robots :) and I, the RobotMaster, the inflow of activity. That's what programming is like. Anyway, in other news:
  • I just bought Animal Crossing, a gamecube game that's in real time...the game actually plays without you. Nintendo has some of the more creative minds in the industry. and I'm game for new methods of play.

  • Still making my way through Wilkie Collins' "The Moonstone" (recommended by Skipping Dewdrops) and thus far it's quite a hoot, although it's not wildly unputdownable. I'm keeping my newest Madeleine L'Engle book just for that.

  • At work I have to do Project Plans and things of that nature. As a rule, I hardly ever had to make up the dates and things. Yeah, that part was always done by the profs etc. It's quite the question, "When will you have this ready..." and I'm learning that the best answer is always to say "2Weeks" no matter what it is.

  • I'm going to propose to do some cool programming things with SVG Soon. SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) is so cool

Having said that...Cheerio!
February 28th, 2004 Hi, It's been awhile, and the time keeps flowing by, in detailed droves of swiftness. Look at it go... Anyway, today I just saw the Passion of the Christ, and it is indeed a touching movie. There were quite a few sniffles in the audience, and by the end of the film a strong silence covered the room. Yeah, if you go to see it you'll be monitoring your emotions too, to make sure you don't cry. It's that strong a movie. I think it has to do with it's vivid and painful scenes. I'm very inspired now to go reread the Gospels. Also in other news, I've finished yet another Madeleine L'engle Book, "A Swiftly Tilting Planet" and I give it the Alexian Two Thumbs Up! Amazing.
February 19th, 2004 I just finished reading Madeleine Engle's book called "A Wind in The Door"
and I'm feeling greatly satisfied. Truly, a part of me needs to escape from realism and that did it, naturally, it's a book for young adults ages 9-12. Ah, but what imagination! What grand imagination. Speaking of which, I've learned now that one needs to feed one's imagination often, with great and pure things. And books which do that are the more priceless. I can tell by the look of the trees as they sing out in deep breaths of rich carbon dioxide, and I know that somewhere in me I am awake.

Story and song. I love tales like this, with a hint of Otherness, mingled in with bits of True things, hard as earth. The mind is so receptive to God in fantasy. It flies. I fly. Fly out in great, inner spirals, in a song of glad appreciation for a mind. Books, real books rule!

And my thought while reading is thus: "Okay, Author, you are leading now, down to the well of my own own soul that I may drink from the fountain of thoughts. They are your thoughts, line by line and you are leading, I am led into story. I trust you with my thought, and I create worlds with your recipe. It is good."

February 18th, 2004 The morning rose to meet me from my darkened sleep with a rosy glimmer on the clock. 7:40. With many soft songs to woe me against the call of dream after waiting around in preREM. REM sleep dream sleep, cutting close to the peeping light, creeping past the dark curtain-sheet. 8:15. Sounds I should not hear, affecting me...
February 10th, 2004 Today I saw Bruce Almighty, which wasn't half bad, except...I'm a little peeved at how movies today are all so much the same...da da da-da love story, guy gets girl in the end kinda thing. Sigh. Is this all that's required to make a solid plot? Every movie tries to toss in the old sales and the old lies about la'more. Blah. Oh well...
  • Today I got a nice book on Lotus Notes programming to add to my growing pile of trees. It does look promising though, if I can use it to design some cool things. Must go through the book though...which isn't so bad.

  • Back to the time management, it looks like the book is dead on. A lot of the time we do spend in activities that are neither important nor urgent...but fun =)

  • "This truth within your mind rehearse...that in a boundless universe are boundless better, boundless worse"

February 7th, 2004 Just when you thought you'd seen it all...you didn't:
  • Just today I've gotten my hair cut and bought a book of cool poems from the Lord of The Rings As we know, I'm quite into the poems of Tolkien these days. Um...yeah, and I also got my hands on "The MoonStone" by Wilkie Collins. I plan to read one solid, super, satisfying tale of fiction and imagination each month (at least one). It's a worthy goal.

  • Speaking of Goals, I'm off on a path of time management, and the improvement thereof.

  • Farewell...

Jan 25th, 2004 Sigh...Doesn't it make you wanna throttle your computer when you've just typed a whole lotta info and the thing decides to freeze? Yeah, I know...Oh well... In other news:
  • Things are speeding up at work now, I've had to do some adjustments to my schedule, since I managed to arrive late at my first meeting. Yeah, as you can tell, the rest of that particular day wasn't so good. But nevertheless though, I've learned the secret to waking up early, and it's simply a good night's sleep, rather than a loudly jangling alarmclock. Yeah, I think all those scientists were right about the eight hours of sleep who'd a thunk it? :^)

  • I was very intrigued to see a man on the bus this week, reading with his fingertips, a wavelike motion on his page with a fervor and a passion only a fairytale could give. I really ought to have asked him what he was reading. But nevertheless, the motion of his hands on the braille was reminiscent of a pianist. "O what is that sound, says writer to reader..."

  • I finally found a nice, youth filled group of believers to learn with. And that's just perfect.

  • I'm learning PERL! Woot.

Jan 14th, 2004 Well, I'm relatively settled now. I've got a routine. Wake up at7am, On the bus stop at 8:30 (this is an adventure in itself, sorta...it's always interesting to see how many people can fit into one of those little booths and the other day I think it was like 25. It was pretty interesting (and cold)). After that I get into work grab some tea and cookies (I'd have coffee, but I don't wanna be too alert, and after the cold walk I'm rather well refreshed.) Then it's...well...at work I haven't really begun to do much yet, just lotsa reading. It should begin to roll swiftly in the coming week. Then, eight point five hours later, I head out to the bus stop. This either may or may not be followed by a (hmmm...where's my DVORAK keyboard) really long wait on the only bus that goes down that far. Well, apart from that I get back home at about 6:40 and get dinner. After that, we get to the good stuff...

METROID PRIME

. Actually, I think I'm either gonna get lots of gaming done, or lots of writing, or music or something. It's a fair bit of free time.

Jan 10th, 2004 YAY the first post of the new year...WHOOO! Okay, So revamping the blog doesn't look like it's gonna happen just yet as I'm just now settling myself into things in Toronto. Work seems to be goin well, it's only been a few days thus far. I live in Scarborough with Yuan, my new housemate. The neighbourhood is pretty great too. This is just a really really quick update...as it's getting late. This is one of the colder winters for me (I've frozen my nostrils) Yikes. I spent alotta time getting to know the bus system here though, it's gone well, and for the present I like riding the subway just to see all the people, and the station's nice and clean and safe. So my move to Toronto has been very..hmm...what's the word...uneventful in terms of bad things happening (although I did get lost trying to find my desk at work, which was quite funny). Of course, city folks aren't as warm, but I seem to fit in just fine, although I do a lot more loner stuff now (which means sleep) :D. Oh well, I just wanted to update this (I'm in the market for a laptop too). I plan to find a nice poetry society, and also learn to play the violin. I have some free time in the evenings so far. Okeydoke.
Dec 29th, 2003 Well, My vacationing is all done now, it was pretty relaxing. I visited old friends, played with my little 3 year old nephew (got tired of playing with my little 3 year old nephew), drove around, did some souveigneir shopping, saw the Return of the King (hurrah :D), played video games, etcetera. It's good to return home, to see the old sights, and at first it was a little foreign to me. Everything had that air of strangeness about it, and strangely, the high trees were small. Yeah, it had something to do with coming in on a plane to a flat land. Eventually, my eyes "adjusted" and it was home again. Yep, once you've caught a jitney bus you know for sure. :D Also, I saw it again, how the light broke out between the leaves while we were stuck in traffic, and it was quite the show.

I spent the entire day yesterday on planes and things in airports. I finished reading a whackload of poems and Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, which was surprisingly glorious.  Oh, and I forgot to mention that Madeleine L'Engle Rules!

My next step is to finalize things here for my move into Toronto, which should probably be about the third or so...should be pretty exciting.

Looks like it's time to revamp this blog for the new year. Cheerio!!

Dec 13th, 2003 Hihi :) All of the exams are done, and none of them left me the way Architecture did last term, which is great! Yesterday I drove into Halifax with some friends (and yes, I did the driving) So I've officially been driving by my lonesome down the 101 at night (at 120km per hr). Now I just need to get all the packing and stuff done. I'm goin home on Sunday night, and haven't been home in a year. Should be an interesting 2 weeks indeed.
Dec 4th, 2003 Study study study...I've been up to just that. But it is still one of the more enjoyable times of the year. Everyone's all a buzz with work and the campus is what a university should be (no parties, just books :D) and there's also some snowfall (quite a bit, actually).
Nov 27th, 2003 It's all coming to an end now...an end, an end...the end.Now I'm just typing something short and simple for this update before I fall into deepest slumber umber, mbr....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....
Nov 23rd, 2003 "Hello World" I'm in the middle of a rather busy week now, as the semester careens to where it's going. There's lots to do (in fact the graphics assignment is due like tomorrow and Kuar and I still have a fair bit left to go) We're quite pleased though, since we've made substantial progress...

Cheerio!

Nov 16th, 2003 I've spent the entire day working on my graphics project for class (which happens to be due like on the 21st...Just a few days left. Thank goodness though, that I've finally managed to understand stuff enough to get sensible output. I learned how to rotate objects in Open GL and move a camara around a virtual world, which is pretty nifty indeed.

On other notes, I feel the need for skatingspeed, or snowboarding. And yes, it's getting colder these days. I'm also in the process of booking a ticket.

Did I mention it's a terrifically busy week? Cheers :)

Nov 8th, 2003 I can't believe it's the 8th already, my how the time does run. Oh well...I've just finished reading "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and though it was like 20 or so pages, I read the whole thing in one go. It was quite the good thing :D. . . Now, if only I can get all the working done. (sigh)
Nov. 6th, 2003 In the distance there is a vision of distance...A slough of assignments, three project deadlines, and a midterm. All in the view of a distance. And now I watch the morrow, and I wait upon the wonders of the day. "With swift, slow, adazzle, dim, He father's forth who's beauty is past change. Praise Him."

I've got such grand photos to update here showing me cutting Ali's hair :D it's too funny.

October 31st, 2003 Great News this week. I was offered an internship position! Yay...Yep, I had applied to an IBM posting and forgot about it, as is usually the case, until one day I got an email telling me I was selected for an interview. Naturally, I was happy, but was not willing to give over too much to celebrating the fact just yet. Then the interview came (two actually) on the same day as the programming competition. Hence I got the interviews bumped up a day earlier so as to go to the programming competition. After this I went onward for about a week and this is where I caught a cold and had quite a bad week. Then finally, a ray of light lunged across the gloom of my world and that was it. I had gotten the position.

Now I'm breaking the news to my sponsors to let them know of the situation. Yay! :-)

October 23rd, 2003 Okay, with bedraggled face and clammy voice I climb the hill in the windy night, advent of soul and weekend. My hero, the tree still singing over my shoulder in loud leaves, Cold about my throat as a stroking stroking of a cat. End ash.

So yeah, that was about me and my cough that changed my voice to a strangle-puff, and stole my sleep lastnight. And then today I had a hard assignment and an Algorithms midterm...I sure am a happy ca...COUGH...camper...sniff

October 18th, 2003

The pressure is on today and tomorrow, and the day after the day after the day after that. I'm facing that business season this week. I don't think I'll go on MSN at all...I have a stellar lineup. Assignment due Monday, Tuesday, Friday. Midterm on Wednesday, Midterm on Thursday...I am simply overjoyed :)

I hope to get a good jump on this graphics stuff too...

October 17th, 2003 I'm off to PEI with the Acadia Programming group...er...students in the PEI competition for ACM. It was pretty cool, my first in depth programming competition. And I mean just that, it was pretty challenging, our teams didn't do so well this time around. We're still okay, and it was a learning experience. I also got to do a road trip in mid semester...was worth it. Only thing is I messed up on the photos...Wrong card.
October 12, 2003
It's SKATING DAY and I'm almost off to the races...we've got both these guys here playing with glasses at my desk, there's Ali and Howell, and we have some music. But anyway...Okay, I'm back now (Don't ask how, "This moment contains all moments" :) it's true! I spent the entire time trying to do the hockey stop, and it's really really intense. I didn't manage to get it, but I did fall on ice several times (like a lot) and got several people to train me (sort of). After that was thanksgiving dinner at the North's house. All in all a fine food-eating sorta day.
October 5th, 2003 Ahoy Moites!

I got my license this past week and it was quite the cool thing, but then I just relinquished it to my wallet. I'm glad to have passed the road test, which is a good thing. In the interim I've been right here, reading good books, I actually discovered something interesting from Franz Werfel, a german author. He's pretty cool. Though I haven't said it or posted it, I have written a few things since my last update to the poetry section, but I just haven't managed to put it up yet.

In other news, computer graphics is making me really happy...well, sorta. But I have a midterm tomorrow, and that's always grand. Hence..."To the Bat-mobile!"
October 1st, 2003
Wow, I think I'm becoming one of those people who stop updating their blog pages...Oh, to shame, to shame. Nevertheless though, it's been a good semester so far, I'm hoping to stick to my bedtime schedule. A fair bitta rest is the best thing in the world for a student. Well, in other news though, I have the road test tomorrow, and I think it should go well. Just gotta remember those shoulderchecks...Yay...Oh yah, one more thing. I bought PIKMIN...it rocks!

September 19th, 2003 Well now, I've finally ran into some really free time. A time to update and a time to not update. A time to run the pc without a problem; A time to have a harddrive crash. A time to take the driving test and a time to ...Oh okay, I'll cut it out. Yeah, I've been having trouble maintaining the site. It's a great thing to have running, but one doesn't always get to update things.

In other news, I'm renting a car today; not exactly sure where I'm goin, but I need the driving practice for my road test in two weeks. (You may be wondering..."How can he rent a car?" but I have a license from back home that's valid. Just need to take the Canadian road test. Dude, it's gonna be a long weekend.

September 7th, 2003 A few lines from "That Hideous Strength" - By CSLewis

"What shall I say in the Great Tongue?"

"Say that you come in the name of God and all angels and in the power of the planets from one who sits to-day in the seat of the Pendragon, and command him to come with you. Say it now."

"And Dimble, who had been sitting with his face drawn and rather white, between the white faces of the two women, and his eyes on the table, raised his head, and great syllables of words that sounded like castles came out of his mouth. Jane felt her heart leap and quiver at them. Everything else in the room seemed to have become intensely quiet: even the bird, and the bear, and the cat, were still, staring at the speaker. The voice did not sound like Dimble's own: it was as if the words spoke themselves through him from some strong place at a distance - or as if they were not words at all but present operations of God, the planets, and the Pendragon. For this was the language spoken before the Fall and beyond the Moon, and the meanings were not given to the syllables by chance, or skill, or long tradition, but truly inherent in them as the shape of the  great Sun is inherent in the little waterdrop. This was Language herself, as she first sprang at Maleldil's bidding out of the molten quicksilver of the star called Mercury on Earth, but Viritrilbia in Deep Heaven."

" 'Thank you,' said the Director..."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep this scene gets better, but I like the lanuage stuff. :)

September 6th, 2003 Well Waddayaknow, today's my sister's birthday and I forgot to call...hmm...I think I'll stop this post and go call. BRB. Okay, my bad. It's next week. Anyway, it's now a few hours later, and I've done lots. My driving instructor stood me up today, and I played a lotta tennis. That was pretty good, and I'm feeling the burn, and I'm gonna knock back a sub. Later all. (^_^)
September 3rd, 2003 Well, I'm sitting in class right now (Semantic web) At the same time I'm trying to knock off this update using DVORAK
August 31st, 2003 The World wakes. This morning I roused at an early hour and looked out the window, out to the tree at the window, out to the grass and field. There was simple grayness out; no tangible sunlight; you know the time, like 4am. And I found Orion hanging there like a father, waiting for me...One star, two, seven, and on and on in cycles till it escaped me I wanted a pattern and watched for the pieces to connect...the dots. Either way, I'm placable now, and have a head full of infinity, for a bit. And here's what I'm thinking on. That infinity is quite like eternity, and such is time.
August 20th, 2003

Dear me, It's been such a while, a whole eight days full of happenings. For one thing, I did manage to get my hands on that HP2210 I was hankering for. And by golly it's a beauty of a thing! This is far better than my palm, and can do so much more. I've just been reading a chapter of The Wind in The Willows, and I love it! Toad of Toad Hall is crazy  =)  I've got lots more todo now, however, It's now obvious that my project is not going to be completed, and we've accepted that and will try to make it into a fourth year project which is good. (Also, I managed to blow my ethernet connection at home for some reason or other.)...In the next few days I'm gonna be pretty busy knocking off a report for the coop people. And then it's back to school. . . I'll be posting the schedule soon too, and i have a few new poems to show too...Oh yeah, I drove on the HIGHWAY!!!!!!! Sweet.
August 12th, 2003 The prodigal blogger has returned. . .Yep, it's been six days of sleep and work, and a little driving in yon Canada. Yeah, backwards roads and ...shoulderchecks...and more. Yeah, I'm working on getting me hands on the old license thing. In any event, the experience is worth it. I'm still working on that HP2210...drool indeed. :) Apart from that and a bit of a toothache, and an impending deadline and a work report its looking good.
August 6th, 2003 I say, by the looks of all the half-finished books I have here on this desk, I daresay, it's a juggle. I managed to get myself hooked on a new PocketPC that I fancy much. The HP 1940/HP2215 look all rather good to me. I really want it for the better screen as well the Microsoft Reader which has a superclear text.
August 1st, 2003 Now sweeps summer by, smooth and long across the grass outside where the bugs are. Now shakes the maple chorus down by the window. Now clouds the distant bay of fundy far gray with foamy fog. Now let the work long day go by.
July 26th, 2003 Well, it's been a pretty interesting week, I guess. Work's been building momentum, and we've got a little to show for our efforts, more to come. But that's how my days have gone, Wake at 8-ish, Work at 9-ish, Work till Noonish, Lunch till One-ish, Chat till 2-ish, Work till 3-ish...etc Home at 5-ish, sleep till 8-ish, read till 10-ish, Cook till 11-ish, eat at Midnight-ish...

Yeah, but I registered today, so I'll be posting my schedule soon. I'm seeped in "The Consolation of Philosophy" by Boethius, and I'm glad to be. I love the free learning of old, old books. . . Also, I'm in need of fantasia...I have "At the Back of the North Wind", but haven't read it... Oh well; Ce'st la vie.

July 20, 2003

Hello All, It's now 12am, and I've just finished cooking dinner...Salmon Steak!

Yay!! I've never made that before, but gave it a shot. I think it turned out okay, I haven't eaten it yet. I figured you should know it first. Oh yah, In my previous post I said I was gonna update the poetry section, but just then I was attacked by a diversion. So, without further adieu I now update the poetry section (but just a bit)  =)

July 16th, 2003 I am once more as I was before...Go figure, eh? :) But eitherways here I am again, I'm about to do a small update to the poetry section, but just a bit.
July 14th, 2003 It's been a while since I updated this thing, I've been sorta phasing in and out of relaxation this past week. I think it began with the poems, and then some shopping, and some heavy reading. I'm reading "Plato's Republic" and it's really quite good. Only thing is that I haven't put much effort into reading for long periods of time. Maybe I'll need a study or something. Yeah, a study, with walls upon walls of oldish books. The silence, the peace, the shelves! (I'm gonna get to work now :)
July 8th, 2003 Hi. I got my hands on a bit of old poetry yesterday morning, by Keats it was...Ode to a Nightingale, and I liked it. For a long time, I'd not read any poetry things, and was feeling lazy about writing, now I'm waking, it seems...or I'm beginning to fall into a soft and sudden REM. Either way, twas good to do thus. Today, I worked in Bridgewater, not really working, just sitting in on meetings n things. . . the best part of the day was the drive home, because we took back roads (it's an hour-long drive by farms and empty spaces and horses and gravel roads too...but it was peaceable)
July 5th, 2003 Well, I guess I'll update the blog now...Last week was good in some respects, and hectic in others. Namely, at work the project on hand is entering the critical build phase, and we've got til the end of summer to finish it. I am hoping to do it in time. But there's a long way to go. Nonetheless, knocked off some shopping today, and I played squash with Phil yesterday. It was nifty, I think...Well, see ya later!Oh yah, also bought a journal, these things are like hard to find here. Oh, yah...I updated the poetry section a bit too...Oh yah, I've healed the Master Sword!!!
June 26, 2003 Windrithil is a word that doesn't exist. This means I've managed to create my own word! Well, it's not my own word quite, it comes from wind and rithil (which is something Tolkien would've said). On a happier note, I managed to get my hands on CSLewis' book entitled Miracles. I'm in for a good read.
June 22, 2003 Ahoy Ahoy Ahoy...I went in to Halifax and we hit a bug and he was no more, just a splattersmatter of matter on the windshield. And I saw it and I saw it and I saw it explode like a balloon on a pin all its innards outward on the wind. Shielded I watched with an awe at the thing that was a bug with a thought and a drive of some sort to cross the 101. Poor thing. Swich Sich go the wipers and washer away the life returned and splat. So yeah, I was in a car that killed a bug. (I'm now hiding from the insect police)
June 18th, 2003 Hi, I'm so sleepy right now, because I played games for like six hours yesterday. What this means is I had dinner like at 1, and slept at two...which means I woke at 7:30 terrifically sleepy. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ...Of course, I only do such things when I'm making real progress in the game...It's still awesome indeed.
June 14th, 2003 I just saw the movie Pi (3.14159...) and I must admit, it's engrossing, like in it's depth, but it's a touch disturbing. The gist of it is that this mathematician (a very pale looking insomniac with a touch of schizophrenic behaviour) discovers a pattern in numbers and number theory that allows him to predict the stock market. And he ends up finding a long 215 digit number, which some Jewish priests claim is the name of God, ...a very shocking and even disturbing movie. Did I mention it's in black and white?
June 12th, 2003 Hallelujah! Calculus is over. Now, back to Zelda....I'm not even gonna finish this blog (grins :) ...
June 10th, 2003 Hi, I'm still doing work on this ERModel (it's great to have a big whiteboard to draw on...) I've also polished off "The Silver Chair" and liked it quite. Now I'm doin a small bit of web surfing and planning what I should do for the rest of the summer (in my free time, that is). I may do a driver's ed course. I may finally learn to touch type in DVORAK which is also nifty. I may read books and eat oatmeal cookies for lunch! I daresay I shall! (let's not forget gaming)
June 7th, 2003 My my, look at that summertime go!...either way, got a calculus exam on Thursday, but I've spent a good bit today looking over the MARS mission.  Click on the link that says "Rover Mission to Mars Animation - 2002"...I liked that one quite a bit. It's reminded me how much I really do love space exploration...I should be a scientist...Oh yah, I found out how to watch webtv too.
June 6th, 2003 "To bed to bed, says Sleepy-head, tarry a while says Slow, put on the pan says greedy Nan, let's sup before we go" :) My mum likes saying that one...heh, so do I. Oh yeah, I read about the new mars missions coming up, and I'm a bit excited about all the new land rovers and things, it's super cool. Best wishes to NASA.
June 5th, 2003 Yay! Calc assignment is done...
June 4th, 2003 Differential Calculus is giving me the beatdown :S, which equals bad, or at least tonight it is...why can't they ask sensible questions, like they do in the examples...Oh well. So I'm online now trying to research the topic. Anyways...

"My heart in hiding, stirred for a bird, the achieve of, the mastery of the thing."

May 29th, 2003 I've made Curry! And I'm eating it even as we speak. It's spicy. Anyways, I'm a touch prosy, but since I've just done eating the Curry...no proses. It was good curry.
May 24th, 2003

Hullo, It's me again, your friendly neighbourhood superhero. I'm right here, knocking off some reading, and some studying for calculus midterm on Tuesday. (Wish me luck). Yep. I've got a touch of the headache now, but I also wanted to mention that I'm reading through a book of Robert Frost's work, and it's amazing that I didn't know he did such fine pieces (except for Stopping by Woods, and the "two roads diverged in a wood" poem). Good reading. Also, I've been very inspired by the work of Shigeru Miyamoto, designer of the Zelda and Mario franchises. A very enlightened and sound game designer. He said something unusual in an interview, that "As game developers, we have a responsibility for what we create, as it could affect young people." You can read more about that interview here. I thought it was a very conscientious thing to say.
May 22nd, 2003 Picture the proverbial rock meeting the hard place or the sturdiest collisions you can think of. Good. Now, picture a 115 pounder slamming into a 150 pounder, there, now you have me playing rollerhockey.  :-D I'm ok...Two thumbs up. I think I'll play some more this summer. It's fun....More cooking tonight...
May 20th, 2003 I'm full of ravioli now, and I figure someone out there needs to know. :-)  Either way, I made chicken souse on Sunday, which though tasteless was pretty sweet (mind my slang). Now, all things said and done I'm right here, doodling...I have a bit of the Prelude on my brain, and another poem. I'm also still hyped up on Zelda, and one more thing...I've played tennis! Yes, it was a crappy game of tennis, but I think it was a fine start. (I have so many pictures to upload, but (you guessed it) I'm lazy today.
May 15th, 2003 Well, I'm at my desk now, just spent half of the workday finishing off an assignment for calculus part two. And y'know what? It went okay, but it coulda been better, had I not fallen asleep yesterday when I should've been working on it. But either way I think I like calculus just fine. I'm hungry...later. Oh yah, I've beaten a really cool dungeon in Zelda. It was very satisfying.
May 11th, 2003 I am once again a Zelda Fan...that game's amazing, and precisely for it's detail level. There's even constellations in the night sky...what a game. So, I know what I'll be up to for the next few weeks ...Dunt-daah, Dat-tatta-ta-taaa, Dat-tutta-tut-taa, Dutt-dutta-dutt-dut-duttaa...Da-nah-nah-naah-nah-naaa Nah-nunt-naah......Oh, okay, I'll cut it out, but it's a good theme song. So yah, I've managed to get the internet working...finally...had to buy a router too. But we're up. I need to do more updates to this site...but I have a calculus assignment for tomorrow and my todo list has grown a fair deal...but have no fear web-surfer friend, I'm on it.
May 5th, 2003

Enchantment. Waving on wings of springtime sunlight down around a waking world, a sonnet and a song. I haven't quite forgotten the cause and...hmm...well, looks like that line of verse is gone. But no prob, I was just grafting something anyway. Today was the first day of Classes and Coop, and altogether it was just ok, except for the fact that we have a "dray-load" of stuff and assignments todo. Joy unspeakable. And so I take this opportunity to quote DHLawrence's famous words: "fol-de rol de-rolly O". I'd do more on this site, however, I'm waiting for my highspeed internet to arrive. (not to say that I'm lazy or anything... =)
May 1st, 2003 Hi all, or as we say in Comp Sci... "Hello World"...Well, I'm doing grownup stuff this week, for instance, having slept on the floor for three nights I decided to get a bed, in fact it was more spur of the moment that I hopped into a cab and said "Where's the nearest bed place" and off I went, even tried to negotiate with the sales guy. Either way I'm not on the floor anymore. So that's a good thing. Now I've also got cooking todo and cleaning and ...are you ready for this??? ...

I've CUT my OWN hair. Now that's something. Actually it went kinda well, thank goodness for trimming guides! Well, until next time ...Oh yah, I'm also trying to turn on the phone...and internet...

April 27th, 2003 Well, the moving is done, and now I'm in an apartment with my new housemate, Howell, very nice guy, but I still don't have a bed yet. So I spent last night sleeping on the floor, which isn't the best idea. I'm supposed to borrow someone else's sofabed today, I think, which should be nice. This whole sleeping on the floor thing reminds me of Ram, the computer guy from CBOB who used to sleep on the floor, as he told me, until one day he had terrible back pains, and then came in to work with a neck brace and stuff. Crazy. Anyway, the new place is pretty spacy, and empty right now. Tomorrow transcripts come out, and I haveta renew mi beca. Nosotros no tenemos el internet tampoco, y que triste...es bastante aburrido asi. Ahora estoy en el sub, porque la biblioteca no esta abierta hoy. Nuevas horas. :-( Ojala que todo sea bien, pero Dios la sabe. Chao!  =D
April 24th, 2003 It's Packing Day today! And tomorrow will be moving day, sorta. I just need to find some volunteers. It's amazing the stuff you end up with: like I told someone else, I could really use a shrink ray. :-S
April 22nd, 2003 Well, well, well...Architecture is over and done (even though it left me breathless and quivering) and a new morning is coming in...summer is on its way. Where I'm from it's all summer and no spring, so I'm interested in seeing what spring's like. Oh yah...I played a game of Badminton today (no pics). My first time. I think it's pretty neat...Now I'm gonna sleep and study for my exam tomorrow morning. Only this time, it's E-commerce, not so much hard, but tricky. After that it's time for moving out and Zelda, and ...Calculus II. Ah me...Shout to the Lord!
April 18th, 2003 My my it's all coming together with a bang and scrawl of lead to the last last second last question cramps. Exams are here. Actually, I've already done four of them, from Monday until Today (Thurs). It's crazy, but I think all has gone well so far. Thank goodness...ah me, exams are fun. Now there's a biggie coming up...ArChiteCture. I'll give it what I can...should be good.
April 10th, 2003 Man, I've reached a milestone in my student career. I have for the first time ever, spent the entire 24 hours writing code. It's amazing that I've lived to tell about it. It all happened one day that my group of five overspent their time doing other things, the naughty procrastinators, when whaddaya know, there's only like two days left to get the Database application up and running. We already had the interface set up, so all the textboxes and things were all done, but it was still dead, since we had to figure out how to hook the thing up to get data from the database. So anyway, from 3pm on Monday, we met, but things weren't looking too good, and we met again on Tuesday, from 3 until 2am (then I was kicked outta the library again :) And then, third star on the right and straight on till morning. First it was 3am, just an hour later, no prob. Then came four, which was a bit of a stretch but not too much, and then it was 5, and the thing was still not working. Then came six, and six thirty...The RA wakes up and goes to the bathroom, looks in at my room, me hacking furiously at my desk (well, not furiously, but intently) and says, "What are you doin up?"...anyway, I managed to finish my part and simultaneously evade falling asleep in any of my 5 classes the next day, from 8:30 until 5:30...and then I juggled until 7:42...and then it was all over.
April 5th, 2003 I feel very awake now, for some reason, despite the time and the flickering of this help application ...STOP that you (sorry, talking to the paperclip thingee)...like I was saying... Today, I attended a seminar on psychology, 3D, and how it affects marketing. Very interesting stuff, the presenter-guy mentioned a lot about strengthening the right half of the brain through creative things (to a class of old comp sci profs and students...brave fellow :-) Either way, it hit the right nerves for me, since I'm naturally interested in psychology (particularly my own, since it's the most curious...well, to me at least it is.) So I (after being kicked out of the library) spent the rest of the night researching Robert Sperry's work on split-brain patients. Fascinating stuff. After that is a blur and now I'm writing this lengthy update...I wanna prose instead but this all said is said.
April 1st, 2003 "Hello World!" I'm in class now, e-commerce class, so I'm updating this site blog. Yesterday was totalmente loco.  I probably won't be making lotsa posts in the next few days. The End of year CrUnCh!!! is here. :-S
March 24th, 2003 All day the white worlds fell in dancing rounds of deep-dropped snow across the lips of window panes and gone and lost sky rained down, soft-seeping, early, yawning Spring. So I walked awake the longer path to my place to watch the treetops bask in white like silver sun across long and cloudless morning-night. (Etcetera)...

Yep, It was time for a prose, I think, but I gotta run, cuz I got an 8:30 class tomorrow morning (and two assignments due) Chao!

March 18th, 2003 Yep, this is it, one day left till three-and-twenty **HintHint**. Nevertheless, interestingly enough, I found myself again in the basement of the library, just milling about, the way I like to at times. You see, that's where they moved all the good books to, it's actually not that bad a spot. As usual, I waft around the aisles until I find some nifty title, or some interesting old name. Today I found James Flecker, a rather interesting chap. Okeydoke...I'm off!
March 14th, 2003 Hi all, Last night it snowed and I watched it from my window while working on an assignment for Computer Architecture...what joy, doing multiplication and division in binary (0011011) at 2am. It's amazing really, I wake up early and sleep late and at the same time I'm glad to, since I'm a raving workaholic (well, not really, just an average Computer Science major). Of course, this means I'm sleepy bad. I kinda wanna redesign some more things on this site though, but anyways.
March 9th, 2003 Well, I've out-done myself this time. It's now 4am (yep, count em 4 am). I've done quite a bit of updates today (well in the past few days). I revamped the poetry page, added a few new pieces and ...Oh yah (nodded off for a second there) I'm off to catch some Z's before morning comes home. Chao.
March 4th, 2003 Well, it's that super month again. March, the month, the blessed month. Either ways, things are going pretty lackadaisical this week (I spelled that wrong...). I'm now killing some time, and enjoying Tuesday (Tuesdays rule!), actually, I'm doing a few updates and things with XML and that Overlib script for popup messages...SIGH...Tuesdays are so great! I love Tuesdays!!
February 28th, 2003 Hi all, It's been a fantabulously challenging week and finally I may rest. I've been sleepy all day. You'll excuse me if I don't say much, eh? Great.
February 26th, 2003 (Hello there, I'm back...back from spring break; now I'm having a bit of a busy week to compensate for the week of inactivity. Joy. Nevertheless, it's a really great feeling to be busy, and to actually study. (Gasp, what am I saying. Oh no! I'm going insane...)> (^_^) <(Heh. Either ways, back to work with me.)
February 19th, 2003 The Hummingbird King returns to his own room to his own bed and chair. On the wall is my list of assignments, on the desk is Tennyson, and an old pack of CDRW's (which aren't all working for some reason). In my bones is a swaying and a constant reaction to this afternoon's snowboarding session. It went very well. Didn't run over any kids today...just big people. Well, it sorta went like WHOOOAAAAA.....turn turn turn....whoaaaAAAAA....sploooshhhhhh. Big cloud of snow and the grownup gets away. Only me left in the snowy ice. But it went pretty good today. I went down a couple of the really challenging hills. You may find some photos too. TOODLES...
February 17th, 2003 Hellio. I'm back again. Today I went to the Acadia public skate (Rah!) and managed to get a few pictures. Just for the record, ice skating is cool. Actually, I think it was Friday night that I went skating with some friends until like 2am when the gym closes. I'm such a night owl. (Giggles) When I read over these things I notice that they get kinda jumpy at times. The thought patterns are skippy, but you probably knew that already. PS. Still working on the guestbook. OH Yah, it's Spring Break now, one full week of zero classes and double the assignments.
In a way, if you can get into the zone, you can learn a lot that way.
February 12th, 2003 My how time flies, when you're having fun...or when you're studying for midterms. Okay okay, I couldn't come up with a better opening. This morning though, I have had the inevitable moment...(dramatic pause)...I missed a class! As far as I know it seemed it would be a normal morning, Alarm firing off at 7:30, I whack it off immediately (for the sake of the neighbours; I used to let it beep for long whiles at like 6am, until one night I forgot my door unlocked and woke up to find my next door neighbour standing at the open door in his pajamas with a crazed look in his eye...true story...never let it ring for more than a few minutes since). Any way, I woke up half an hour late for my class and I was quite distraught. I never miss a class...late...but never miss. Oh well.
February 9th, 2003 Golly! It's been a really busy week this week. It's sorta due to the snowboarding last week, and the table tennis the day before. So I was kinda fielding from assignment to assignment to get it all done. Not a good idea (but snowboarding is important :^) Either ways, some exciting things happened. I upped my Geekdom by two or three points by installing software on my LinuxBox. Hot-dog! And to top it all off, it didn't blow up. I'm actually gonna do some more with it before bed. (it's only Midnight).
February 1st, 2003 Today I went snowboarding again. For the second time ever, actually. At first it didn't look like a really good time was in store for me at Ski Martock, the nearby hills.  But eitherways, since people here are so very all terrain (and my friend said she was still gonna go though there was freezing rain) I went anyway.  Once we got there it was all still sorta pretty rainy and stuff, well not so much rainy, but stuff anyway. Either ways some of the snow was melting, but the conditions coulda been worse. The good part for me today was that I learned to snowboard with a private instructor named Sandy (a guy). He was really really good at explaining things to me, like which foot to pivot on and what to expect will happen, and he taught me how to turn. JOY! I can turn!! I feel really good now  and next time I probably won't do any lessons. Last time I fell down so much that I was terribly sore the next day, but this time I feel good enough to edit my site at 2am. JOY indeed.
January 30th, 2003 Well, It finally happened, the next door neighbour's alarm clock finally spooked me senseless. I was goin crazy this morning. Actually, I blamed it on my poor ol' alarm for waking me up. Whack-whack-whack...SCREEEEEEE....Oh well. After a while I came to terms with the insane whistling thing as coming from the heater, so I managed enough sanity to sit there thinking, "Oh well, the maintenance guys are gonna have to fix my heater". So I go outside and the whaddaya know, there's the cleaning lady wondering like what's goin on here? The scream was like filling the hall, like a pot constantly whistling, only loud loud loud. So we got Jill, the RA to open up the door and solve my problem. Either ways, I'm up.
January 26th, 2003 It's that time again...yawn. Just did some updating to various things. Still haven't knocked off the ol' Picture Gallery yet. But anyways, on the plus side, I'm going to bed. :^) See ya.
January 21st, 2003 Well, it looks like 2am is the time for editing web pages again. So here we go. Today was pretty good though. However I foresee that, with six courses and all, updates to the site may be put on hold for a bit...but have no fear there's always 2am. Okey-dokey. (Oh yah, fixed the problem with the size of the photos).

January 15th, 2003 Slight doodahs going on, just maintenance and changes to design. Nothing to talk about, but I'm waiting for my E-Security course to begin.

January 13th, 2003

No work done on site, but now have digital camara, so we can set up some photos real soon. Also about to fix links in the side menu so they actually work. More to come...Of course, it's 2am and I should go to bed, but no class till 2pm.

January 11th, 2003
